Clicker Training is showcased
on ABC's Good Morning America
For those of you who already know the power of the clicker as an
effective tool for training your dogs, we are ecstatic to share
that Karen Pryor, who has been the pioneer-of-all
things-positive in animal training for over 40 years, including
the birth of clicker training, was featured recently on Good
Morning America! See the link below for a video of her
appearance, and an excerpt from her newly released book
"Reaching the Animal Mind" where she describes her work at Wolf
Park in Indiana, with a wolf named D'Artagnan. Karen describes
her time training him using a whistle to "mark" the behavior she
wanted him to repeat.
The concept of conditioned reinforcement works
the same whether using a clicker, a whistle, or some other sound
that's been paired with the delivery of food and as you will see
when you read the excerpt...the results of her training session
with D'Artagnan and what she was able to train him to do using
the technique, are nothing short of absolutely, positively
amazing!
For those of you who haven't yet experienced the awesome power
of the clicker
for training your dogs, read and watch the video, and get ready
to be awestruck!
